# Publish under your own name, and be found without extra work

*Publishing · Coming soon on Jversity*

For educators and organisations building an audience under their own brand rather than a separate blogging platform. Write in a dedicated workspace, schedule a post for the exact minute you want it live, and let full-text search, SEO fields and read tracking do the rest — all under your own domain.

Built and running inside Jversity today — not yet open to new Jversity customers. Talk to us if you want early access.

## Who it is for
- An educator or institute publishing guides and announcements to bring in students
- A course creator building organic search traffic under their own domain
- Anyone maintaining a separate WordPress or Medium blog just to publish under their own name

## What it does
### A publish workflow, not a text box
A post moves through draft, scheduled and published states as a real editorial process, not a single save button.
- Draft, scheduled and published states with a real workflow
- Schedule a post for an exact date and time, published automatically down to the minute
- A dedicated writing workspace, kept separate from the rest of the admin panel
- Author profiles, categories, tags and an inline media library

### Found without extra work
Search and SEO are built into how a post is stored, not bolted on afterwards.
- Full-text search over title, subtitle and body, backed by a real database search index
- A typo or partial word still finds the right post — search falls back automatically
- Per-post SEO title, description and a dedicated social-share banner, separate from the cover image
- A canonical URL field for a post that also lives somewhere else

### URLs that never break
A post's address is generated once and frozen the moment it goes live, in whatever script the title is written in.
- Clean URLs generated from the title, in Hindi, Tamil or any other script
- Collision-proof: a repeated title gets its own numbered suffix automatically
- A published post's URL is permanent — editing the title later never changes the link

### Numbers that mean what they say
Views, likes and read time are computed from real activity, not a counter anyone can inflate.
- A view counts once per reader per 12 hours, not once per page load
- One like per signed-in reader, enforced at the database level
- Read-time estimates recalculated from the actual word count on every save
- A homepage that quietly reorders itself around what each reader actually reads

## How it is used
1. **Write** — Draft in a dedicated writing workspace, with categories, tags and an inline media library beside the editor.
2. **Schedule or publish** — Set the exact minute a post should go live, or publish it now — under your own domain, with SEO title, description and social banner set per post.
3. **Be found** — Full-text search, read tracking and read-time estimates are already running by the time the first reader arrives.
4. **See what is actually read** — The homepage adapts to what readers on this blog actually read, rather than showing every visitor the same order.

## How it is built
- **Publishing is a cron sweep, not a flag checked on read** — A scheduled post goes live from a job that runs every minute and flips it the moment its time arrives — safe to run on more than one server at once, and it will not publish a post early for a school in a different timezone.
- **A lapsed subscription pauses a post, it does not delete it** — The same sweep checks the organisation's subscription before publishing, so a scheduled post from a lapsed account waits rather than going live for free.
- **Search tries the real index first, then falls back** — A search is answered from a genuine full-text index built over the post; if that returns nothing, a plain substring match runs automatically rather than telling a reader their spelling was wrong.
- **A URL is frozen the moment it matters** — Editing a post's title after it has ever gone live does not change its address, because a link or a search ranking pointed at that URL is worth more than a tidy one.

## Questions we get asked
### Can I schedule a post for a specific time?
Yes, down to the minute. A background sweep checks every minute and publishes anything whose time has arrived, so it goes live on schedule with nobody watching the clock.

### What happens to a post's link if I edit the title later?
Nothing. Once a post has been published, its URL is frozen — editing the title changes what readers see, not the address that already points at it.

### Does search handle typos?
Yes. A search first tries the real full-text index; if that finds nothing, it automatically retries as a plain substring match rather than returning an empty page.
